Brief Bio or Introduction
Dr. Alexander Woodman is a Professor of Family Medicine and Public Health with a renowned track record of influential research in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. He has spent the past two decades studying medicine, public health, and policy within the MENA region.
Dr. Woodman has authored over seventy peer-reviewed academic papers and is an award-winning author. His articles are frequently cited and serve as a foundational research base for scholars globally.
Dr. Alexander Woodman holds a PhD in Preventive Medicine from the University of Salford, School of Health Sciences, Manchester, United Kingdom. He is licensed Public Health practitioner and medical researcher.
Dr. Alexander Woodman received his undergraduate degree from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) with College and Departmental Honors, Magna Cum Laude, and Chancellor’s Award. His efforts ranked him as one of the top performers in his class and in the top three percent of the UCLA graduating class. Upon completion of his undergraduate studies, he received a scholarship to continue his graduate studies in Global Health, Health Sciences and Health Across the Life Span at the University of Southern California (USC). He received a scholarship from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Wasserman Fellow, National Institute of Health, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He has worked in Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
His research focuses on global reproductive health, communicable and non-communicable diseases among adolescents, sexual health, medical ethics, transnational and transcultural health politics.
