I am an award-winning journalist whose work has appeared in Jewish newspapers across the country and around the world. I began my career at JTA before moving on to the Jewish Exponent in Philadelphia. Today, I am a regular freelancer for JNS.org, Chabad.org, the Jewish Link of New Jersey and other media outlets. I am also the author of a bestselling children's book series.

Favorite topics to write about

I can't really narrow it down, as part of what I love about journalism is the chance to learn about and report on many different issues, people and more. That said, I do like covering breaking news stories and writing in-depth features. Among the topics that I tend to cover more frequently are those related to education and children, and any hard news stories.

I am also the writer of the bestselling Jewish children's books from from Menucha Publishers. Titles include: "The New Girl," "Trouble Ahead," "The Accident," "The Wedding Dance," "Layla's Vistaville Summer" and "Layla's Sugarland Winter."

Additionally, I am the director of communications at LifeTown and Friendship Circle New Jersey where I handle much of the writing and editing including our yearly "The Circle" magazine.
